“Us” vs “Them”

I wanted to get this out of the way for a pretty simple reason – this is the Internet, this is a public blog, and forums like this allow for anonymous or pseudonym hate to sneak in or permeate to its very heart. I don’t want it to show up here. Frustration? Sure. Anger? Probably. Hate? Absolutely not.

What constitutes hate? Unless you’re talking about Nazis or pedophiles or intrinsically evil people, targeting groups of people with obvious vitriol is to be strictly avoided.

Can you hate a philosophy or an idea? Yes, but please explain why.

What about a specific person? If a public person, sure, but please explain why. If a commenter, moderator, admin, or contributor here? Nope – stick to what is being said that bothers you.

I know this is a weird way to start a blog, but I think it’s relevant to establish an operating norm because I really want this to become something worth sharing. Will that happen? Who knows, but I have this weird desire to read and take notes and have ideas and then share that.

So, as always and forever, thanks for coming along for the ride.
